Since 1980, this office had been previously working as Highways Division, Vehari. It was renamed as District Office (Roads), on September 01, 2001. After Devolution Plan 2001, it works under administrative control of District Government Vehari. From January 01, 2017 till date, it is been working as Executive Engineer, Highways Division Vehari, after re-structuring of Communication and Works Department.
Functions
Highway Division Vehari is responsible for planning, execution, development and maintenance of all provincial roads and bridges under Annual Development Program. Besides this, some projects under Sugarcane Cass Development Program and Foreign Assistance Projects as per the policy of Government of the Punjab are being done; designing, constructing and maintenance of roads and bridges using the experience of the past years.
